Swedish Pine Side Table circa 1970

Swedish Pine Side Table

Side table attributed to Leif Wikner, circa 1970.
Leif Wikner worked in Sweden at the same time as Sven Larsson and Roland Wilhelmsson.
This table top is done by beautiful end grained pine cubes, that are full of life and vibrancy. Time and wear has made this table even more charcteristic and dramatic.

This rare side table with a solid and sturdy look is constructed in a precise manner implementing straight lines, resulting in an eloquent and simplistic furniture piece that is typical for Swedish design.
In the highly refined connections of the wood, you can see the work of an expert. The pine has expressive wood structures displaying natural grains and an intricate warm deep color. The patina and the craftmanship is something that you first dont notice, until you look closer.

There is a small indentation on the left corner in the back.
