Large exceptional Norwegian Root Bowl, ca 1780-1820

The burl birch wood grain is so dense and compact, and the patina is amazing, remaining in its original state.
One can truly understand why people in Scandinavia hold burl birch wood as the finest of all wood types, and it is still, to this day, the most expensive and sought after
