Magnificent Swedish Baroque Cabinet ca 1780
Seldom have I had the pleasure of seeing something so mesmerizingly beautiful—imperfect, worn, bearing the marks of centuries of use and neglect.
It feels like looking directly into the passing of time, yet it remains strong and deeply connected to the present. Make no mistake—this is a rare late 18th-century Swedish baroque armoire with green-painted marble panels.
The painting style is the work of a swift and experienced hand, and the movement of the brush is simply… well, just one of those things.
Truly a masterpiece, a northern gem.
The crown is missing, and I don’t care.
The lock is broken, and it has a latch.
Most probably originating from the Bergslagen region, Sweden.
Made out of pine wood.
