Rare Swedish Folk Art Baroque Console Table ‘Strålbord’, ca 1750

This rare Baroque console table, known as a Strålbord, originates from Dalarna. This style of table was especially made near the Falun region.

With its elegant Baroque design and rich patina, it still retains some of its original paint on the legs.
The beautifully worn footrests reflect centuries of use, as does the rest of the table.

The tabletop is a later addition, which is not uncommon for furniture of this age.
The natural wear and character developed over time make this an extraordinary Swedish Baroque folk art treasure—a rare find among rural furniture from this period.

Made out of pine.
