Swedish Barock Cabinet from Dalarna, Rättvik, ca 1730-1750

Perfect imperfection.
Worn down in a splendid marriage of patina and the touch of human hands, it has, through the centuries of wear, become a witness to history.

Now it stands in its place as a reminder: age is the silent beauty.

It’s original English red with panel doors of blue cobalt paint.
The left lower panel is painted in red to save the expensive blue paint.

The cabinet was originally built to fit against the wall and has a raw side.

Old repairs and 1900 base list, newer hinges on the right side (original hinges on the outside still remain).

Made of pine wood.
