Swedish ‘Fäbod’ Ladder, circa 1750

Rare Exceptional Swedish ‘Fäbod’ Ladder, circa 1750

Its sculptural presence and large size, crafted from a single solid piece of pine wood, with handles and foot posts, is breathtakingly beautiful and just as functional today as when it was first made.

Time has truly shaped this ladder into an extraordinary architectural piece.

It was crafted with an axe by a skillful maker, using an aged, perfect piece of wood. The handles and foot steps are expertly made, and the dry cracks are a testament to its age.

Several old rusty nails and owner marks add to its character.

Originating from the south of Sweden, Vimmerby, in a small village named Hamphorva in Mariannelund.

This is truly the most beautiful ladder I’ve ever seen.
