Extremly big Swedish Rootbasket from 1800 century
It originally had a lid and a lock.
The reason for being so big is that it was used in the rural parts of northen Sweden for the merchant to transport grains and flour to the population.
That’s why it has a hole in the bottom to let te grains out.
It is by far the biggest root basket I have ever seen.
The roots are made out of pine roots and the wood is aspen.
This makes it extremly light and hard.
